This humidifier contains special gel crystals that absorb 450 times their weight in liquid.  You can watch them expand to absorb enough humidifying solution for months of freshness. You'll know it's time to refill them when the crystals have shrunk by half. Perhaps it's filled with distilled water or Brigham humidifier solution.
